Presentation of the year-long commissioning series of works in and around Rotterdam's port extension project Maasvlakte 2, with works by Lara Almarcegui, Bik van der Pol, Jan Dibbets, Marjolijn Dijkman, Fucking Good Art, Ilana Halperin, Christina Hemauer & Roman Keller, Paulien Oltheten, Jorge Satorre, and Hans Schabus (website collaborators: Maria Barnas (poetry) and Markus Miessen (interviews)).
The films by Rotterdam-based artists Bik van der Pol and Marjolijn Dijkman, 'Facts on the Ground' (2009–10) and 'Surviving New Land' (2009–10) respectively, are premiered coincinding with the opening of the exhibition.
A catalogue and a special edition catalogue designed by Ben Laloua / Didier Pascal are published on the occasion of the exhibition. The multi-part publication box includes a miscellany of contributions by the artists, a cahier with texts on the projects (it can be downloaded from here), the prologue publication presented with the launch of the project in February 2009 and a DVD with 'behind the scenes' footage with interviews with 'Portscapes' artists. The limited edition contains the film '6 Hours Tide Object with Correction of Perspective' (2009) produced by Jan Dibbets for 'Portscapes'. The publication is available at the Museum Boijmans’s shop, or can be ordered from SKOR by emailing info@skor.nl or calling +31(0)20 672 25 25. The standard edition costs €12.50 and the special edition €50.
'Portscapes' was an accumulative series of newly commissioned projects taking place throughout 2009 alongside the construction of Rotterdam's [51°55' N 4°29' E] Maasvlakte 2 (MV2) – an extension to Europe's largest seaport and industrial area by 20%.

Los films producidos por los artistas con base en Rotterdam Bik van der Pol y Marjolijn Dijkman, 'Facts on the Ground' (2009–10) y 'Surviving New Land' (2009–10) respectivamente, tendrán su premiere coincidiendo con la exposición.
Con motivo de la exposición se ha publicado un catálogo y un catálogo de edición limitada diseñado por Ben Laloua / Didier Pascal. La ‘caja’-catálogo contiene contribuciones de los artistas, textos acerca de los proyectos (se pueden descargar desde aquí), la publicación prólogo presentada durante el lanzamiento del proyecto en febrero 2009 y un DVD de entrevistas con los artistas. La edición especial contiene el film '6 Hours Tide Object with Correction of Perspective' (2009) realizado por Jan Dibbets para 'Portscapes'. 'Portscapes' ha sido una serie de nuevos encargos artísticos que han tenido lugar a lo largo del 2009 paralelamente a la construcción del Maasvlakte 2 (MV2) en Rotterdam [51°55' N 4°29' E], la extensión de la zona portuaria e industrial más extensa de Europa que se realizará entre el 2008 y 2013 'robándole' 2,000 hectareas de terreno al mar.
